Proposal
The competition that i am intending to enter is the raindance film festival, this competition will allow me to enter my work into a professional competition and will allow me to compete with other screenwriters and will let me see how my work compares to others. The competition is based in London and the UK and gives amateur film makers like myself to get there work seen by production companies and showcase skills. The deadlines for this competition are between the 19th September 2018 and the closing date is the 30th September 2018 this will give me enough time to prepare for the competition and make any minor changes to my production before entering if necessary. The reason i am creating this production is because i have gained skills in screenwriting i feel like by producing a short film this is the best way to showcase my skills and potentially get my production aired on either TV or seen by production companies who may be interested in my skills.
Idea
I started thinking about my idea by looking back at all of my past productions and thinking about how i can use similarities from these old productions in my FMP, i instantly knew that i would want to be filming a real life action drama as i have massively took inspiration from the classic screenwriter Quentin Tarantino. his work has massively inspired me to make short films and is a massive reason why i love screenwriting, i want to make a short film with similar methods from Tarantino's work like Pulp fiction and from dusk till dawn. so the main idea of a outline of the story of my movie will be about a boy living in a council housing estate with nothing he decides to buy a lottery ticket as he is feeling lucky, he Wins. The story seems very happy at this moment having it turns into a massive betrayal as one of his friends steals the winning ticket.

Feedback analysis
I received some really good helpful feedback on my idea and my proposal of the narrative that im writing. Some responses in particular really helped me decide what i was going to use and try and create in my short film. for example people were very vocal about making a more coming of age teen drama, this is very much a gap in the market at the moment and is defiantly one of the most popular genres at this point of time. a certain people mentioned the TV series Skins and how this has been a big inspiration to me as it features very real life issues and problems that many teenagers face in their lives.
This feedback therefore has defiantly helped me understand my target audience better as I can see what they will want and by using this it will help me film certain scenes better. I want to use these real life issues that many people face and have to deal with at this age range, for example i feel like by using issues like having no money and alcohol abuse will really allow me to connect with my target audience as they will be able to understand my idea as at this age they will be able to relate to it better than people of other ages. My main target audience will be teenagers this is because the narrative of my production follows this age group.
Another very helpful response that i received allowed me to get a better insight into what my target audience are going to want to see in my production. This observation told me that i need to have a more exciting ending to really either leave my production on a cliffhanger or shock people. Based on my feedback i am definitely intending to use a cliffhanger in my production as i feel like it will really make people want to see the next part of my production and therefore will increase my potential target audience. This will help make my production a lot more powerful and people will want to see what happens next. This will be a good way to keep people anticipating whats going to happen and will also make them more interested in the next part of my production as they will want to know the outcome.
